Out of the Void Posters
Out of the Void Poster by Bebops

I am constantly astonished and entranced by the myriad forms of life on this planet. To quote one of my very favorite authors, Annie Dillard, in
Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, "the creator has pizzazz".

I hope to display a variety of animal images on this blog to delight us all. I have created many products featuring wildlife and pets for my Zazzle stores, Bebop's Place and Bebop's Weddings, using my original photographs and designs. I am also constantly amazed at the gorgeous animal products available from the rest of the Zazzle community. I am hoping others will enjoy this blog and even be moved to purchase some of these lovely items for gifts or just for the pleasure of having such beauty around.

From the designer: Brighten Your Day - Freckles in Flowers II is a tuxedo kitty who sits in a field of flowers on the side of a hill. Blossoms of crimson reds, pretty pink poppies, lavender heather and white dogwood surround this black and white cat, both on the ground and falling from the heavens. Freckles has mostly black fur, white paws and whiskers and little dab of white on his kitten mouth. Bright blue flowers falling from the sky give an extra sparkle to the dappled gray background. You may experience peace, serenity and healing as you look at my work. Freckles in Flowers II is part of my Fanciful Animal Images series. Freckles has been my beloved animal companion for 18 years. At the animal shelter he came right over and insisted on going home. When I went to the shelter, Freckles came right over and brushed against me – and then he walked away. He did this several times. To me, that said this tiny tux kitty was both independent and loving. And that has turned out to be so true! This image of Freckles is a delightful addition to any family with his elegance and charm on this lovely notebook.

This throw pillow features a Sharp-Shinned Hawk perched on the top of a bird feeder hoping to catch a meal. He has a hunter's stare. His yellow talons and orange eyes are prominent. He has lovely rust and cream bands on his breast, white and black striped tail feathers, and a gray back. This hawk's prey is mostly small birds. This mini messenger bag features a repeating abstract pattern of a Small Milkweed Bug ( Lygaeus kalmii) set on a gold background. This bug is black with orange bands on the forewings that form an “X.” The head is also black with a red spot on the top which often extends to the face. It is theorized that this brightly colored pattern warns predators that the insect tastes bad. They feed on plants which contain toxins that the insects take into their bodies when feeding. The insects are not harmed by the toxins, but predators don’t like the taste of the insects, so after tasting a black and orange insect, they learn to leave them alone!

An ever so slightly stylized image of a moose silhouetted against the Northern Lights. The word "Alaska" appears at the bottom in a font suggestive of ice and snow.

This iPhone 5 case features the Great Blue Heron, a large wading bird in the heron family Ardeidae, common near the shores of open water and in wetlands. He is the largest North American heron. Notable features include slaty flight feathers, red-brown thighs, and a paired red-brown and black stripe up the flanks; the neck is rusty-gray, with black and white streaking down the front; the head is paler, with a nearly white face, and a pair of black plumes running from just above the eye to the back of the head. The feathers on the lower neck are long and plume-like. Because this is the breeding season, he also has plumes on the lower back and an orange bill. His feathers are backlit by the luminous sunlight.

The Japanese beetle, Popillia japonica, has iridescent copper colored elytra and a green thorax and head. Despite its colorful beauty, it is a serious pest of many plants, including roses, grapes, hops, canna and crape myrtles. Here it is on display with legs spread on a field of white wildflowers and greenery.

This pillow is embellished with an illustrated portrait of a Dalmatian dog set against a soft blue, gold and gray argyle pattern on a light green background.

A group of common terns, collectively known as a "committee of terns" is the focus of this fractal design. Within each group of terns there is one large tern followed by progressive waves of smaller terns in greater numbers radiating from a center point outside the image. It gives the impression of terns in a symmetrical flight pattern similar to waves breaking on a shore. Each group of terns alternates between facing left and right and the pattern progressively increases in size further down the tie. The images show the Common Tern (Sterna Hirundo) whose head and head feathers are distinctively black, breast white, tinged with gray and swallow-like forked tail. The background color of the tie is dark blue but this may be changed before ordering. Fully customizable and easy to personalize, add text, different colors and styles. An ideal unique gift to a bird lover as a "Thank You" or Congratulations present, or just an unusual talking point for your committee meetings and business lunches.

A grumpy looking American Toad (Bufo americanus) is looking out at you from this Earth Day poster. This small amphibian is brown with black, gold olive green and orange coloration. His warts distinguish him from his frog neighbors. Although hatched in the water of ponds, rivers, lakes or streams, the tadpoles soon move to land where the toads live their adult lives. His startling call is a long screech. He looks quite fierce but is actually a gentle little guy who eat lots of garden pests including insects and slugs. The text reads: Think Green ! It can be customized or removed.

This poster is a study of beauty and the beast. A perfectly lovely golden orange dahlia is being visited by a green, yellow and black Spotted Cucumber Beetle who is emerging from underneath some petals. The beetle is somewhat camouflaged because the colors of the flower and the insect are very similar. Although they look as harmless as ladybugs, they are a major agricultural pest insect, nibbling the leaves of many important vegetable crops.

This crane fly mousepad displays a simple, almost abstract pattern with minimal colors of brown, black and gray.
